	Beoga - Mischief Beoga (named after the Irish word for "lively") are a five-member band based in County Antrim, Ireland. The band is composed of Seán Óg Graham and Damian McKee on accordion, Eamon Murray on bodhrán, Liam Bradley on piano, and guest vocals and fiddle by Niamh Dunne. 	Brock McGuire Band - Brock McGuire Band This band consists of Paul Brock (accordion, melodeon), Manus McGuire (fiddle), Enda Scahill (banjo, guitar), Fergal Scahill (fiddle, guitar) and Dennis Morrison and Denis Carey sharing keyboard duties. It’s appealing very well-played music, with an old-fashioned taste to it. 	Chris Droney - The Flowing Tide Disc Three of the Clare Set. Chris Droney, a farmer from Bellharbour, near the Burren area of north Clare, came to the forefront of Irish music in 1956, when he won the Fleadh Cheoil All Ireland Concertina Championship at Ennis, with further All-Ireland concertina championships in 1959, 1960, and so on until 1967, when he retired "to give the others a chance"! Concerts in the USA followed, and Chris was much in demand for house dances all over Clare. Much of his repertoire came from his father, and his dance-oriented, driving style, free of over-decoration, is pure Clare playing. 	Chris Droney - Down From Bell Harbour This is the third solo album from legendary Clare man Chris Droney, who has been playing music for seventy-three years, delighting traditional music enthusiasts and dancers alike. 	Kitty Hayes & Peter Laban - They'll Be Good Yet The CD captures the music of two musicians: Kitty Hayes on concertina - clearly relaxed and at home in her own kitchen where the recordings took place - and Peter Laban playing flat pitched pipes, complementing Kitty's typical - older generation - Clare style of playing, creating a multi-layered blend of concertina and pipes with a strong 'live' feeling to it. 	John Kelly - Irish Traditional Concertina & Fiddle Music Disc Four of the Clare Set. John Kelly was born in the district of Rehy West, County Clare, and for over thirty years was a force in Irish music - he was a member of Seán Ó Riada's Ceoltóirí Cualainn, of the Castle Ceilidh Band, and of Ceoltóirí Laighean, and regular musician at respected Dublin sessions. John's fiddling is in the relaxed Clare style and his concertina playing is spikier, with subtle variations of notes, the occasional harmonic effect, and again that off-beat emphasis. John taught at the Willie Clancy Scoil Éigse, and supported the Tradition Club held on Wednesdays at Slattery's, just a few doors away from his Dublin home: he was recorded by John Tams and Neil Wayne in January 1974 and by Tony Engle and Patrick Hayes in March & April 1975, and extra tracks are here included from these sessions. 	Mary MacNamara - Open Hearth (with Andrew MacNamara) Those familiar with the subtle, sparsely decorated, and gently paced music of Mary MacNamara will find this recording very much in the same vein as her previous two solo albums. Although her brother Andrew's accordion playing can be quite different in style, i.e., complex in ornamentation and faster paced, here he matches Mary's style note for note, which results in a series of charming unaccompanied duets. 	Tommy McMahon & Bernard O'Sullivan - Irish Traditional Concertina Music of Co Clare Disc Five of the Clare Set. This recording from 1974 highlights the unique playing and ensemble style of these two great players. Their repertoire was immense, and the younger Tommy (24 at the time of recording) had learned much from the playing of his friend and mentor Bernard O'Sullivan: they were neighbours in Cree-Cooraclare, and still played together until Bernard's death in August 2006. 	Mick, Louise & Michelle Mulcahy - Notes from the Heart Peadar Ó Riada remarks in the notes for this album that it is the sweetness and the tunefulness of the family’s ensemble playing that is most striking, and he is right. Their music is full of melody and warmth, and is firmly rooted in the west Limerick and Sliabh Luachra styles, but also has a Clare influence. The Mulcahys play a dazzling array of instruments on the album; Mick plays accordion and melodeon, Louise plays concert flute and uilleann pipes and Michelle plays fiddle, concertina, harp and piano. 	Micheál Ó Raghallaigh - Inside Out The second album from the man who made a triumphant debut some years ago with ‘The Nervous Man’. This one is every bit as good as his first, an accomplishment that is worthy of note, given its predecessor’s astonishing mix of technical perfection, sheer good taste and exuberant artistry of the highest order. 	Micheál Ó Raghallaigh - The Nervous Man Micheál Ó Raghallaigh's debut solo CD, with accompaniments on harp guitar and bodhran. Micheal's concertina playing achieves a great balance of traditional sound and personal expression. 	Jason O'Rourke - Roguery Road Another recording of concertina and fiddle. O’Rourke has been a well-known frequenter of the Belfast session scene for quite a time and O’Kane, originally from Dungiven in Derry, has moved there in recent years. This is yet another excellent album, recorded live in County Antrim, albeit on a wider canvas, as they have brought in quite a few other musicians, including O’Kane’s father, Séamus, the famous bodhran maker and player. Other well-known players from the Belfast sessions include Breandán O’Hare and Davy Maguire. The tunes are from a broad base, including Britanny, Wales and Orkney. 	Jimmí O Se - Malairt Poirt O Fionntra Jimmí is 90 years of age. He plays the accordion with an ease that would be a credit to someone in their fifties, and with the proper swing for the dances of his native West Kerry. Listeners should be aware that most of this recording consists of conversation, sometimes with music playing behind it. The conversation is in beautiful, articulate Kerry Irish, as concise and intelligent as his music, and like his music it is easy on the ears. It consists of personal reminiscence, folk tales, and history (including Lindbergh's transatlantic flight). Quinn plays the melodeon on a couple of tracks, including his solo, and a banjo-melodeon unaccompanied duet. There are quite a few well-known tunes on here and some more seldom heard ones. 	The Russell Family - of Doolin, Co Clare Disc One of the Clare Set. The fame of the legendary Russell Brothers - Micho, Pakie, and Gus - brought legions of music enthusiasts to Doolin, Co Clare throughout the '60s and '70s. The brothers had learned much from iconic Clare musicians such as Johnny Doran, Willie Clancy, and concertina players Martin Kiloughery and Paddy Murphy, and the trio were finally recorded in 1974 by Neil Wayne & John Tams for a classic Topic LP, now released here on CD as part of the Clare Set of archive recordings, with many extra tracks from the original 1974 Russells sessions. 	Marie Walsh - The Red Box Marie was All-Ireland Champion for both piano accompaniment and accordion back to back in 2003 and 2004. 	John Williams & Dean Magraw - Raven "This loose-limbed Raven soars effortlessly, Chicagoan John Williams, founder member of Solas and a man who's on fluent speaking terms with concertina, accordion, flute, low whistle and piano, brings a zest to both traditional and original tunes, and he's found his spiritual equal in guitarist Dean Magraw, who's a mean draw when it comes to tune writing, too. There's enough space in between this pair's playing to let the oxygen molecules truly ignite, whether in the company of a Kerry barndance (The Gypsy Princess) or a madcap foray onto the unknown (Trippin' Into Eden).
