Éirí Go Lá Seamus Begley & Jim Murray - Éirí Go Lá
“Free wheeling, free spirited and powered by an appetite for traditional music’s outer reaches” Siobhan Long – The Irish Times. Legendary Irish accordion player and singer Seamus Begley and guitar virtuoso Jim Murray are about to embark on a nationwide tour with their new album. Éirí Go Lá (Up Until Dawn) is the duo’s long-awaited follow up to their acclaimed debut album Ragairne which won both Hot Press Magazine and The Irish Times “Traditional Irish Album of the Year”. Éirí Go Lá is a rousing celebration of tune and song and features material sourced mainly from the pair’s native counties of Cork and Kerry - much of which has never been previously recorded. Return to Inis Mor Joe Derrane with Carl Hession - Return to Inis Mor
Derrane's second solo album (1995) has been remastered and re-released by Green Linnet. This album takes its title from one of his homecoming visits to Inis Mor, the largest of Galway’s Aran Islands and the birthplace of his father, where he gave a special concert in July 1995 as part of the Galway Arts Festival. The original jig he named for that occasion is here, along with reels, hornpipes, and other jigs, including Joe’s own Papa’s Joy, galvanized by his trademark triplets.
